Description
Photograph of a view looking north from Ninth Street of Broadway decorated with flags, ca.1925. Broadway is at center and heads away from the viewer into the distance. There are many early-model automobiles parked along the edge of the street, and several cars are driving as well. There are two sets of streetcar tracks in the middle of the road, and streetcars are visible in the distance. There are many pedestrians walking along the sidewalks that border the road, and tall buildings line the street. Several flags and banners are hung over the road from wires.; Legible signs include, from left to right, "Blossom of Sweets", "Theatre", "Southern California [?]", "Building", "National Braun Bldg.", "Clothes on Credit Newest Styles Lowest Prices", "Brown-Israel Outfitting", "Designer", "J. V. McNeil Company Contractors Inc.", "Future home of the Orpheum Theatre", "Now Playing at 630 South Broadway", "Grace La Rue Charles Withers", "The Best of Vaudeville", "Auto Park", and "Grass".
