Description
Photograph of a priest in a tower with the Great Bell (the largest of the bells) in Mission Santa Barbara, 1898. The priest can be seen standing at right wearing the traditional Franciscan habit. What appears to be a rosary with a large cross attached to the end of it can be seen hooked on to his belt. He is looking down and is pointing at a large bell to the left. The bell is attached to a thick, horizontal wooden pole. A shingled roof can be seen in the background.
