Description
Photograph of men posing in front of a large tree dubbed "General Grant" in Visalia, Tulare County, 1900-1940. At center, fifteen men are visible standing in front of the trunk of a large tree. Four men are visible standing on the ground in front of the trunk, while the rest of the men are perched on the side of the tree. A white horse wearing a western saddle is visible to the right of center in front of the tree, while a man is visible laying across the top of the horse. The men are all visible wearing hats, while most wear a combination of suspenders, long pants, vests, and jackets. A multitude of long sticks are visible sticking out of the top of the trunk, while tree branches, twigs, pine trees, and boulders are visible in the background. Photoprint reads: "How high can you throw a spear and make it stick?".
