Description
Photographic portrait of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, [s.d.]. The general is pictured from his upper torso to his head and is looking to the left with his shoulders facing straight ahead. He is wearing a civilian-style jacket and tie. He has very wide, thick sideburns, and has short, dark, wavy hair. "Vallejo was commander at the Presidio of San Francisco in 1833. Between two and three hundred white inhabitants lived there, including soldiers, women, and children"--N.W. Davis.
