Title
Steps leading from the kitchen in the rear of the cloister at Mission San Fernando, ca.1900
Description
Photograph of the steps leading from the kitchen in the rear of the cloister at Mission San Fernando, ca.1900. The stairway touches the ground at left and goes upward away from the camera. When it reaches the wall, it turns perpendicular to itself until it reaches the second floor where it turns back towards the camera. The stairway is made of adobe bricks and has a banister made of sturdy wood beams. The ceiling in the room is wooden, and five long thick beams provide support. The adobe bricks of the walls are missing spackle in many places. There is an opening at right under the stairway.
