Description
Photograph of two drawings of Porterville depicting the public school and Pioneer Store, 1900-1940. A drawing of a two-story school building is visible in the top half. The brick building has a covered entryway, tower, and sloped roof. Multiple arched windows are evenly spaced throughout. A paved sidewalk is visible running to the left and right next to the building. Trees and grass are depicted around the building, while hills are depicted in the background. The bottom half depicts storefronts lining a sidewalk, which runs left to right. The two-story building contains two towers and a balcony. At center towards the roof the building reads, "Putnam Block 1890". "R.P. Putnam Pioneer Store" is written on five windows at street level. A woman holding a parasol and small dog at the end of a leash is depicted towards the left on the sidewalk, while a horse-drawn wagon is visible at right. Photoprint reads: "Pioneer Store, Heirs of R.P. Putnam".
