Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the old Bernal adobe on the former Rancho El Valle de San Jose, 1937. The one-story adobe rancher, which was built in the 1850's and used as a barn on the F.E. "Lucky" Baldwin ranch, is shown at center. Its walls are lightly-colored and its windows and door appear either to be made of wood or boarded-up. A post-and-rail fence runs in front of the property. Shingles have come loose in the roof. The Rancho El Valle de San Jose was originally granted to Antonio Sunol, Antonio Maria Pico, Augustus Bernal and Juan P. Bernal.
