Description
Photograph of a panoramic view of a lumber mill in a valley in northern California, [s.d.]. The complex consists of several milling and manufacturing facilities and a nearby community of over a dozen dwellings(?). A train depot stands next to key buildings for the transportation of lumber. There is one locomotive in the station with a tender and one car attached. In front of it, there are about half a dozen more cars. A nearby flume aids in the movement of lumber. Just behind it are stockpiles of lumber. Legible signs include: "Union Pacific", "Southern Pacific". Wooded mountainside can be seen in the background. In the foreground, the rapids of a shallow river can be seen.
