Description
Photograph of the exterior of Rancho Merced, home of Juan Matias Sanchez, on Whittier Road in Montebello, ca.1907. The two story home has several chimneys visible, and a covered porch runs down the entire length of the front of the house. Vines have grown up the posts supporting the roof, making it look like the house is being held up by a wall of plants. The lawn is cut very short, and there are two palm trees in the front yard.; Nowadays, the Juan Matias Sanchez adobe's adress is 946 N Adobe Ave., Montebello, CA 90640.
