Description
Photograph of Father Superior Peter Wallischeck in Mission Santa Barbara cemetery, ca.1898. He is wearing the Franciscan habit with cords hanging nearly to floor. He holds an open book with his hands and stares off to the right. Father Superior stands behind a large succulent plant, and a row of small trees and plants can be seen at left. At right, stone buttresses of a large building are visible with ivy growing along its base. In the extreme background at center, church bell tower is visible. No bells are visible in the open niches along the side of the tower.
