Description
Photograph of an exterior view of an Apache Indian home in Arizona with five Indians sitting outside, ca.1884. The hut is at center and is made from dried grass and branches bent into a dome shape. There is a small grove of trees next to the hut at right. Four adult Apaches are seated on the ground at right, and a baby is seated on the lap of the woman second from the left. All of the adults have long hair and baggy clothing. The two members on the inside of the group are wearing dark clothes, while those on the outside of the group are wearing light clothes. The camp is littered with empty baskets in the foreground, and a large pile of blankets is at left.
