Description
Photograph of Franciscan Brother Peter playing the organ at Mission Santa Barbara, 1898-1899. The monk can be seen at center sitting on a small stool while playing a wooden organ. He is wearing the Franciscan habit, and a long rope falls from his waist down to the floor. An open window can be seen to his left, showing a large column outside. The visible part of the room is bare of furnishings or decoration except for a picture on the wall in front of the monk, a low bench behind the organ, and some unidentified poles leaning in the corner. Paint has chipped and peeled off of portions of the wall. A wooden floor covers the entire room.
