Description
Photograph of a view of Holt Avenue in Pomona, showing the Elks' Hall, ca.1900. A line of colonially-inspired homes stands to the right, two to three stories tall, just in from short swaths of front lawns and a narrow but well-kept sidewalk. To the right, palm fronts intrude from just outside the image, obscuring a house veneered with clapboard. Each home appears to feature a circular off-shoot of the sidewalk that leads both to and away from their front steps. To the extreme right, the unpaved road can be seen through a thick line of trees.
