Photograph of an exterior view of a cabin at Fern Lodge, ca.1930. A cabin is seen in the center with a wooden fence surrounding its patio area, slightly elevated. To the left of the center background, a wooden bench is visible next to steps made out of concrete that lead to the entrance of the cabin. A smaller stone-made fence surrounds the wooden fence, positioned in a lower height along a road trail. Another wooden fence is visible in the left corner of the foreground. Several trees surround the cabin and more trees are visible in the backdrop.; Handwritten characters are seen in the left front corner that read: "E.B.Gray.", "Photo", and "Fern Lodge".

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
