Photograph of an interior view of a building near a golf course, possibly Brentwood Country Club, ca.1920. The interior view of an open-air patio shows a floor made of cemented stones which leads to a less elevated patio where men, in early traditional golf clothes, are visible. The patio has a high ceiling with a row of arcs to the left and doors to the right. In the far background, automobiles can be seen on a dirt road, which extends over a series of hills.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
