A woman dressed in a buttoned blouse and a light-colored long skirt is standing in a delivery position on a mat; she is wearing rubber-soled shoes, a hat and spectacles. Bowls are noticeable scattered on the foreground grassy area. Three men are sitting directly behind her on a bench, which is positioned on a slightly elevated ground. An infant is noticeable sitting on a bench behind a partially visible man in the right. Bushes serve as a fence behind the benches. A large house behind trees is noticeable in the background.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
