Description
Photograph of an exterior view of a Spanish-style house on the corner of Willetta Avenue and Ivarene Avenue in Hollywood, October 24, 1929. The two-story house can be seen at center and is light-colored with a terracotta tile roof. A tall cylindrical tower rises from the center of the building, and the front door can be seen at its base. At right, a wooden balcony is visible on the second story. The garage can be seen at left, and its large doorway is covered by a dark curtain. The front yard is covered with short grass and held in place by a low retaining wall that runs parallel to a street in the foreground.

Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
