Description

Photograph of a frontal view of cabins at Camp Rincon, Azusa, ca.1930. Several cabins are seen in the background. The majority of the cabins that are visible in the center background have cloths covering the roof top and the sides of their surface area. A tree and a partially visible bush in the foreground has lightly colored stones around its outer circumference. The same is seen in a large circular dirt area behind the tree in the left. A trail is seen in the background between two cabins located on the left, that lead to the cabins further in the back. Trees are seen in the area where the cabins sit and more vegetation fills the backdrop.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
