Description
Photograph of Sturdivant's (Sturdevant?) Egyptian lotus pond and garden on Franklin Avenue, Hollywood, California, ca.1900. A man wearing waders with suspenders, a dark-colored shirt and a hat can be seen in the background standing in the water. No buildings are visible. Only undeveloped scrub brush-covered land is visible beyond the narrow wooden picket fence which surrounds the garden. Hills and mountains are visible in the distant background.
