Description

Photograph of a view of falsework during construction of the main arch of the Fourth Street Viaduct over the Los Angeles River, [s.d.]. A concrete pillar can be seen at right. A concrete arch runs from the base of the column at right to center. Wooden scaffolding supports the arch, and more scaffolding can be seen on top of the arch at right. Several men can be seen on top of the bridge at left, and shallow water can be seen in the river in the foreground at center.

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
