Description
Photograph of the Lopez Adobe, San Fernando, ca.1920-1929. The two story house can be seen at center with a veranda on the second story which overhangs the first floor. The building has a tile roof and gingerbread gallery and brackets. The property is surrounded by a stone fence and attractive landscaping including palm trees. Photoprint reads: "A.S.C. Forbes, Bell Manufacturer, 335 West 31st Street, Los Angeles, California".

Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
