Description
Photograph of a sailboat in Los Angeles harbor taken by "Dick" Whittington, ca.1930. Three men are seen at center, "sailing a home-made 'Skip-jack' over the cool waters of Los Angeles outer harbor--a feat of the municipal boating activities at Cabrillo Beach". The sail tilts to the right, and the three figures lean to the left as their vessel cuts through the choppy water. In the background to the left is another watercraft, and in the far distance the harbor can be made out, lined with boats.
