Description

Photograph of construction of the Hollywood Pantages Theater, December 1, 1929. The large building with a flat roof can be seen partially completed at center. Lumber and other supplies can be seen strewn across the roof. Palm trees can be seen amongst other buildings in the background. The buildings are built on a hill in the left background. Photoprint reads, "B. Marcus Priteca, Architect. S. M.(?) Sonnichsen, Associate. [...]Lapson[...] Co. Contractors. [...] 1929".

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
