Photograph of an exterior view of Samuel Goldwyn Studios, showing intersecting street, June 1, 1941. Tracks stripe the street across the foreground while a second, intersecting street reaches into the left distance. Automobiles line either side of the second street along with electrical poles. The long, lightly-colored studios stand at the corner at center. Dark trim outlines the windows and the entrances which stand down the street, on the left.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
