Description
Photographic portrait of a family at the Old Duin (?) Ranch house at the intersection of Western Avenue and Lemon Grove Avenue, Los Angeles, ca.1862-1863. A man in a vest holds his unsaddled horse by the reigns. To his left, an elderly woman and a middle-aged woman tending a toddler girl stand by a thin tree. Behind them a second man in a hat holds a second horse. The earth beneath them appears to be tilled, and a small cottage stands bordered by picket fence behind them.
