Description
Photograph of "Arizona Mary" leading a sixteen-yoke ox team in Arizona, ca.1890. The oxen are paired up and form a line that extends from the foreground at left toward the background at right. A large wagon is connected to the end of the team. Arizona Mary, the only woman engaged in ox teaming at the time, can be seen in the foreground at right. Tall hills can be seen in the background, and desert brush covers the ground around the road. Two more ox teams can be seen in the background at right.
