Photograph of an exterior view of Don Vicente Lugo's house (Casa de Lugo), Los Angeles, ca.1930-1939. The two-story building can be seen at center with a sloped roof and a balcony on the second story. A covered walkway is visible in front, which is held up by several posts. Three automobiles can be seen parked on the road that runs in front of the building. Other buildings can be seen on either side of the home. Pedestrians can be seen at right, while three men can be seen from behind leaning on the low wall in the foreground. A tree trunk can be seen in the extreme left foreground.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
