Photograph of an aerial view of the Naples area of Long Beach, January 23, 1929. The ocean is visible at left, while buildings can be seen throughout. At center towards the bottom is an area of land surrounded on at least three sides by water. Mountains can be seen in the distance. Photoprint reads: "Spence Air Photos, 2404 W. 7th Street, Los Angeles, Fitzroy 2948".

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
