Photograph of a view of Westwood Village from a grassy median, April 11, 1932. A large, light-colored building with a domed roof and a massive arched doorway is at center. A small fountain can be seen in front of it. A divided road can be seen at right, and palm trees are planted on the median. At left is a narrow road with many automobiles parked along the side of the street. There is a tall tower visible in the background at left.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
