Description
Photograph of the exterior view of the Pomona Railroad Station ("Similar to Salt Lake Station in Riverside."), ca.1906. The mission-style building has a large enclosed patio with wooden benches where passengers can wait for their train. The main section of the station has multicurved gables, arched windows and arched passageways. The inclined roofs of the building are covered with Spanish tiles. Several bicycles are leaning against the building underneath a sight that reads: "Pomona [...]". Nearby are several wheeled contraptions parked next to a utility pole. Railroad tracks line the road in front of the station. Behind the station is a building with a sign that reads: "Warren's School of Music". Several signs near the building advertise: a movie, "The San Francisco Earthquake, Opera House, June 10", "Dr. Pierce offers $500 reward for women who cannot be cured of female weakness, send for free booklet", "Varney & Green", "fiesta number, Los Angeles Times, out Thursday May 24, [...], all events, [...], for sale everywhere", "Egg o See".
