Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the original rancho adobe home of the Ontiveros (Ontivares) family, 1937. Two one-story homes are shown at right angles to one another. The frontmost home is evident at right, clad in wooden veneer. A large opening on its left side suggest a carriage house of some kind. To the far left, a small adobe rancher can be seen, its spackle eroded from the brick beneath. Two doors are visible on its facade, one ground level, the other elevated and attached to steps. Trees hang in from either side of the image. This was the home of Don Pacifico Ontiveros (Ontivares), original grantee of Rancho San Jan Cajon de Santa Ana in 1845.
