Description
Photograph of a view along a street of shops in Westwood Village, [s.d.]. An octagonal brick builng can be seen int eh foreground at right. A large tree partially hides the two-story building, although a large display window is still visible on the first floor. A tall metal street light can be seen at left, while several early model automobiles can be seen parked near the curb at left. A wide sidewalk separates the buildings at right from the street at left.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
