Description
Photograph of the Landfair Apartment building, on the southwest corner of Landfair Avenue and Ophir Drive in Westwood, 1938. The photograph appears to be taken from the corner of Glenrock Avenue and Ophir Drive. The building was completed in 1937. At center, a three-story International/Modern-style building is pictured, an automobile parked on the street in front of it. The garage of the apartment building appears to be set underneath, placing the first residential floor one story up. Both residential levels appear to have balconies on the right side. The earth surround the building's foundation appears to be fresh.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
