Photograph of exterior view of Maryland Hotel in Pasadena after fire, ca. 1915. In the foreground at center, a wicker chair and block of wood are visible. At center, a rectangular stone frame can be seen with burnt ivy at its left. Futehr to the left, additional ivy surrounds the base of a chimney connected to a brick wall. A destroyed wall and section can be seen further in the background. To the right, half of a palm tree is also burnt.

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
