Description
Photograph of exterior view of Maryland Hotel in Pasadena, ca. 1925. In the foreground at center, a wide, paved road can be seen extending from left to right. Along the curb of the street, four parked automobiles are visible, and a group of four men can be seen near a lamppost at left. In the background at center, the front of the three-story hotel can be seen. Two wings flank the central hotel body, and a cloth awning extends from the front of the hotel to the sidewalk. A serires of arches are visible along the base of the builing, and tile can be seen along the roof. The left wing is mostly covered in ivy.; "Maryland Hotel, Colorado & Los Robles, Pasadena. California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960
Description
The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
