Description
Photograph of a view of Colorado Street in Pasadena looking east, Los Angeles, ca.1927. Automobiles and a man on a bike make their way along the paved street in the foreground, while two streetcars (one of which reads "Altadena") and more automobiles do the same further back. To the right, the Romanesque architecture of the Security Trust & Savings Bank stands fronted by pedestrians on the sidewalk while a Souther Pacific transportation station stands on the adjacent corner. Across Colorado, to the left, the sign for the National Bank can be partially seen. Highrise buildings line the rest of the street on both sides with utility poles making a web of wires over the street. Other legible signs include: "Leddy's", "J.H. Woodworth & Son Real Estate & Insurance [...]", "Cow Butter Sweet Butter Butter [...] Cottage Cheese Pimento [...] Ice Cream Table Cream Whipping Cream Milk A[...] Fresh [...]", "Drugs", "Books", "F.C. Nash & Co.", "[...] W. Mather Co., Inc. [...] Goods", and "Shoes".
