Description
Photograph of a view of the southeast side of the beach looking in from the water in Long Beach, 1900. A horse-drawn carriage walks the shore at left while other visitors lounge in the sand. To the extreme right, the silhouettes of people playing in the water can be seen. Several modest, two-story houses can be seen in the background in front of the treeline. The water of the ocean is clear enough to see the underlying sand through. It dominates the foreground of the image.
