Description
Photograph of Ocean Avenue in Long Beach looking south from Pine Avenue, Los Angeles, ca.1910. A women in a light-colored dress, a woman in a dark-colored dress and a man in a dark suit all stand at the corner in the foreground under a canopy which reads "Cigars". Next to them, underneath one of the poles supporting the streetcar cables, a second man stands obscured by a small palm tree while a horse and buggy ride over the streetcar tracks embedded in the unpaved road. Men and women stand and walk further down the sidewalk, underneath a canopy that reads, partially, "Shells", while two streetcars run along the opposite side of the street. A few civilians can be seen enjoying the surf past the buildings near the shore at right. Back in the foreground, a man in a suit and hat walks in, also from the right.
