Description
Photograph of students of all ages in a cooking class at the Frank Wiggins Trade School, ca.1920-1929. Seven women and one man ranging in age from 20 years old to what appears to be about 70 years old can be seen working in a kitchen. Most are placing food on small plates, while pots and pans hang overhead. The man at right is balding and works near a large pot. The women wear light-colored dresses and aprons, while the man wears an apron over a striped shirt.

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
