Description
Photograph of Main Street looking south from Seventh Street, ca.1926. Both sides of the skyscraper-lined street are prominently visible, although the right side extends further into the foreground of the photo. Automobiles drive and park along Main Street, while a cable-car makes its way down its tracks at the center left. People stroll the sidewalks to both the right and the left in front of the advertisements of commercial buildings. Legible signs include: "Ligett's Drug", "E.R. Parker System Dentists", "The Owl Drug Co.", "Jack Ranch's Lunch", "Radio", "Garage", "Hotel [...]", "Agents for this and Other Business Properties / R.A. Rowan & Co. / [...] 0131 / 300 Title Insurance Building", "Hotel Pacific", "Great Republic Life", "M Kantor Co. / We Sell for Less", "[...] Jenkins [...]", and "Overell's".
