Description
"La Musica de la Guitarra" under the cactus. Photograph of the Hilario Ybarra (also spelled Ibarra) family posing in their patio, upper Main Street at Ord Street, Los Angeles, ca.1889-1890. Pictured is Florentine Slivas de Ibarra ( Hilario Ybarra's widow) and family ( two daughters, son, grandchild?). Three women, a child and a man. The moustachioed man is playing a guitar. The child sits on the lap of the eldest woman. A large birdhouse and the family's dwelling are in the background. A large cactus dominates the right side of the image.
