Description
Photograph of the Opportunity Group Class run by the Psychology Department at 3rd Street School, [s.d.]. A small classroom is shown, and three rows of wooden tables fill the room. A chalkboard is visible on the far wall at right, while windows cover the wall at left. Twenty-one children, both boys and girls, watch a teacher who can be seen in the corner of the room at center. Books and dioramas cover the tables in the room, and an American flag hangs from the wall at right. Photoprint reads: "photo by Visual Education Division, Los Angeles City School District".

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960
Description
The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
