Description
Photograph of the exterior view of the Garfield School, on the corner of California Street and Pasadena Avenue, built in 1902-1903. This is the second[?] Garfield School. The 2-story ornate wooden Victorian structure has 2 tall fanciful towers flanking the front entryway and 7 roof peaks visible in this perspective. A small grassy area just behind a low stone wall in front of the school is planted with 5 small trees or bushes. More than 100 children form several lines in the dirt schoolyard waiting to go inside. The front sidewalk is in the foreground. The date given on the front of the school over the entry is "1888".
