Photograph of an exterior view of the West Coast Glass Company, ca.1930. A wood paneled building stands to the right of center while a shorter building can be seen to the left with three cars parked next to the edifices. A silo stands to the left of center while a funnel-like object sits to the left with a long pipe extending out of it. A telephone pole can be seen lining the street in the right foreground while a large building with a sign that reads, "West Coast Class Co. - Milk Bottle Mfgers" stands to the right.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
