Description
Photographic portrait of the attendees of a Swan's Valley fund-raising picnic, Catalina Island, [s.d.]. The attendees pose in the open air, several dozen men, women and children dressed at various levels of formality, arranged in approximately five rows. A shack is visible behind two trees that can be seen behind the posed group. A large, cactus-laden hill is visible in the background. A man with a candy-striped coat squats in the second row, holding a guitar in his lap. A man at the far back center holds his hat in the air in order to be seen. The picnic was held in order to raise money for the purchase of a church bell.
