Description
Photograph of children diving for coins thrown from a steamer in Avalon Bay, Santa Catalina Island, ca.1905. Five small row boats float in close proximity at center while young boys dive into the water in search of coins. The steamer sits in the water on the right with thick ropes extending over the boys to secure the ship to the dock. Many ships and small boats float in the water in the background with two rock formations behind them on the far left.
