Title Tractor in use, [s.d.]

Description Photograph of a tractor in use, [s.d.]. A man in coveralls sits on to puff the tractor controlling it with the levers in front of him. The man is apparently dragging a large cylinder which is linked to the back of the tractor. The tractor has left track marks on the smooth dirt with its tank-like wheels and a small pipe from its front side secretes puffs of smoke. A large factory stands behind the tractor on the left while a hill stands in the background on the left.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
