Description
Photograph of Mount Lowe Incline Railway nearing Echo Mountain House, ca.1900. Around a dozen passengers can be seen in a mechanical car moving along a slanted track at right. Many of the passengers have opened umbrellas to provide shade. Two American flags fly above them -- one on the house, one on the summit. Scrub brush covers the sides of the mountain. At the top of the incline, a large building is visible. A large patio area can be seen near the front of the building. To the left, a rotunda can be seen with several windows on the upper level. To the right, two chimneys flank a small sign reading: "Echo Mountain House".
