Description
Photograph of Culebra Cut looking north, Panama Canal, 1906. In the background to the left, a large mountain range is visible sloping to the right. Similarly, another mountain range can be seen on the right sloping down to the left. Between the two large ranges, a series of small rails can be seen in the canyon below. The rails run parallel to the cliff faces and extend to the extreme background at left. Also, wooden planks are visible along the ground. Caption at the bottom of the image reads: "Culebra Cut, looking north--the deepest excavation along the Panama Canal, in 1906".
