Photograph of a view of Hollywood Boulevard west from McCadden Place, 1928. A paved road can be seen running from the center foreground to the left. Multiple-story buildings line the right side of the road. The building at left has a pointed tower on top, while a flag flies from the top of the flat-roofed building at right. Circular wreaths are depicted on the rectangular widows on the building at right. Early-style automobiles are parked along the right side of the street, while canopies cover parts of the sidewalk. Hills can be seen in the left background.; Legible signs include, from left: "Hotel Hollywood", "Auto Park", "Montmartre", "Roy Fox's Orchestra", "Breakfast Served", "Robertson Company", and "Robertson".

Title California Historical Society Collection, 1860-1960

Description The California Historical Society Collection is incomparable for the documentary picture it provides of the growth of Southern California, particularly the development of the Los Angeles region, between 1860 and 1960. The collection contains more than 25,000 photographs. The full archive was placed on long-term deposit at USC in 1990 and includes the Title Insurance and Trust Company Collection, also known as TICOR, and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection.
